Santa Rosa Medical Group Expands Primary Care Options

MILTON, Fla., - As the need for primary care providers grows in Santa Rosa County, Santa Rosa Medical Group(SRMG) is proud to announce Merlandie Houston, APRN, is now accepting new patients in Milton. Houston specializes in care for young adults to geriatric patients with a focus on managing chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and COPD.
“As a family practice nurse practitioner, I feel so lucky to be able to help families manage their health,” Houston said. “Patients sometimes feel overwhelmed by a diagnosis of diabetes or COPD, but with proper care and consistent visits with your provider, these conditions are manageable.”
With Houston now seeing new patients, families have more family medicine options in Milton and surrounding areas. Patients can choose from same-day or telehealth appointments. Houston completed the adult gerontology-acute care nurse practitioner program at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. As she finished the program, Houston continued working with inpatients on the medical unit at Santa Rosa Medical Center. She earned her Master of Science in nursing at the University of South Alabama and obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida.
Merlandie Houston joins the Santa Rosa Medical Group Family Medicine practice in Milton, located at 6072 Doctor’s Park Road.
